As we stop and think about what Christmas is really about, my thoughts take me to the Manger where Love is carefully wrapped in strips of cloth. What is Love but God fully expressing Himself in and thru Christ.
Many people thru the ages have expressed their own thoughts on love or what love is- here are just a few:
"Love and a cough cannot be hid." - George Herbert
"Love is appealing, but it's practice is appallingly difficult." - Anonymous
"People don't go where the action is, they go where love is." - Jess Moody
"Music is Love in search of a word." - Sidney Lanier
"I have to decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear." - Martin Luther King, Jr
"Satan separates; God unites; love binds us together." - D.L. Moody
"Our Lord told His disciples that love and obedience were organically united. The final test of love is obedience." - A.W. Tozer
"What does it look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has the eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like." - Saint Augustine
"Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all." - Issac Watts
May the love of Christ compels us to no longer live for ourselves, but for the One who was born to die for us, and was raised again.
