Maybe I had it all wrong. After years of reading the King James Version of Proverbs 29:18 which states, "Where there is no vision , the people perish!" I have come to the conclusion that that perhaps the NIV nails it down even better: " Where there is no revelation (emphasis mine), the people cast off restraint" (NIV). If we all have a different vision for what God wants to do through His Church body, then that is at best, a "shotgun" approach to knowing and doing God's will and at worst, a train wreck waiting to happen.
But, if we all pray for God to reveal to us as a church body, what is "His good and acceptable and perfect will" (Romans 12:2), that is the "bullseye" approach! God already knows what His will is for His Church Body.
The "Glory Train" pulled out of the depot long ago, "before the foundation of the world" (Ephesians 1:4) and is coming thru our town. Will we listen for the whistle to obey Him and get ON BOARD ?
